WebCam Spatial Object Recognition

I have been impressed with the ability for computer webcams to regonize and discern objects in their field of view ever since the features started appearing in the logitech Quickcam Software.  Using the facial mappings the overlay can make you look like a cartoon character, or superimpose objects on your face.

Well a startup call CamTrax Technologies are doing some great things taking it to another level.  Using their software and a standard webcam, you can “lock” any object for tracking by their software, then use that object for use to control software applications.
